The FIB is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading directly to the arrest of Tobias Karl Sorensen.
Remarks
Sorensen is believed to have bribed mobile carrier employees to transfer victims’ phone numbers to devices he controlled, then used those numbers to take over cryptocurrency accounts. He has significant cryptocurrency holdings and may be living abroad.
Caution
Tobias Karl Sorensen is charged with stealing more than $9 million in cryptocurrency from at least 40 victims through SIM-swapping attacks between 2024 and 2026.
